“HALLUCINATION” AT CANNES FESTIVAL

Hallucination Cannes Independent Laurels

Decipher Pictures and TEE-M’s Hallucination is an Official Selection of the 4th Annual Cannes Independent Film Festival during the world’s largest and most prestigious festival and film market at the Festival de Cannes in legendary Cannes, France.  The Cannes Independent is a major event at the Festival de Cannes in much the same way that Slamdance lends itself to Sundance in the United States: catering to independent filmmakers whose films and formats do not have categories at the larger festival.  The screening represents Hallucination’s Western European premiere.

Held from May 11th to 21st, 2011 the Festival showcases the best of indie filmmaking during the Festival de Cannes, giving indie filmmakers  the opportunity to network with the entire filmmaking industry, screen films at great venues in Cannes and sell their films to the largest gathering of film buyers in the world, all side-by-side with the year’s biggest new releases.  It’s the place to be if you’re serious about film.  Hallucination is a short narrative film and the third music video from Pakistani rock star TEE-M’s debut album “EARTHIOTIC… songsfromaoneroompalace,” and marks the second collaboration with director Chris Jean and Decipher Pictures.

The film was shot at a photography studio in Los Angeles and was produced entirely using digital filmmaking tools including the Canon 5D Mark II camera system with Lensbaby selective focus lens, and was edited on Final Cut Pro HD for Macintosh. The video is shot by Kelly Jones, edited by Race Owen and features costumes designed by Rosalida Medina for Decipher Pictures. To explore “Hallucination” further, read the article “Rock and Roll and the American Dream in the Modern Age” by Ashley Wren Collins for The Huffington Post (May 26, 2010), based on an interview conducted with TEE-M, Chris Jean and Race Owen.
