Decipher Pictures and TEE-M’s Hallucination is an Official Selection of the 2nd Annual New Wave International Film Festival in the cinema epicenter of Los Angeles, California, where the film has won an Honorable Mention Award in its category. Also known as “Nouvelle Vague,” the term New Wave refers to a form of European Art Cinema originating in late 1950′s and 1960′s France, produced by renown filmmakers including André Bazin, Jean-Luc Godard and François Truffaut.
Held from May 2nd to 11th, 2011 the Festival was founded by and for independent filmmakers who seek to recognize the craft of filmmaking and storytelling, showcasing and honoring innovative and exciting new voices in the American and international film communities. With nine categories featuring over ten awards each, including the Honorable Mention, the Festival’s goal is to recognize a large and diverse selection of films from all genres and from all over the world. Entries are evaluated by a panel of industry professionals and award-winning filmmakers. Hallucination is a short narrative film and the third music video from Pakistani rock star TEE-M’s debut album “EARTHIOTIC… songsfromaoneroompalace,” and marks the second collaboration with director Chris Jean and Decipher Pictures.
The film was shot at a photography studio in Los Angeles and was produced entirely using digital filmmaking tools including the Canon 5D Mark II camera system with Lensbaby selective focus lens, and was edited on Final Cut Pro HD for Macintosh. The video is shot by Kelly Jones, edited by Race Owen and features costumes designed by Rosalida Medina for Decipher Pictures.
