Decipher Pictures and TEE-M’s Hallucination is an Official Selection of the 6th Annual Sunscreen Film Festival in flourishing Tampa Bay, Florida’s second largest metro area, composed of sister cities Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater. Tampa Bay has fast become a hub for Sunshine State arts and culture, and a vacation destination for lovers of music, film and theater throughout the American Southeast. It’s also home to the famous Gasparilla Pirate Festival, a mock pirate invasion held every year since 1904 and often referred to as Florida’s Mardi Gras!
Held from April 13th to 17th, 2011 and recently named one of the top 25 film festivals by MovieMaker Magazine, The Sunscreen Film Festival is dedicated to educating the public about the art of visual storytelling, enhancing opportunities for local filmmakers to develop their craft, and increasing the public’s awareness and support of local filmmaking as a cultural and economic asset. “Hallucination” is a short narrative film and the third music video from Pakistani rock star TEE-M’s debut album “EARTHIOTIC… songsfromaoneroompalace,” and marks the second collaboration with director Chris Jean and Decipher Pictures.
The film was shot at a photography studio in Los Angeles and was produced entirely using digital filmmaking tools including the Canon 5D Mark II camera system with Lensbaby selective focus lens, and was edited on Final Cut Pro HD for Macintosh. The video is shot by Kelly Jones, edited by Race Owen and features costumes designed by Rosalida Medina for Decipher Pictures. To explore “Hallucination” further, read the article “Rock and Roll and the American Dream in the Modern Age” by Ashley Wren Collins for The Huffington Post (May 26, 2010), based on an interview conducted with TEE-M, Chris Jean and Race Owen.
